I used to like Candace Owens back in the day when she debated alongside Charlie Kirk. I appreciated her “Blexit” campaign (though looking back, it seems more like a fluke than a lasting movement). I also really liked her vaccine series, which stood out as different from everything else at the time.
I was impressed by how well she worked with Charlie, as well as her roles at PragerU. I was genuinely happy for her when she joined The Daily Wire. However, that’s when I started to lose interest. As a host there, she began coming across as increasingly arrogant.
At first, I didn’t think much of it and simply lost some interest. After she left Daily Wire following what I considered an unfortunate situation for everyone involved, I tried to give her another chance — especially because many of my friends were still big fans.
It was okay, but I wasn’t particularly impressed. I was already familiar with many of her conspiracy theories, and I could get the rest of the information from voices I trusted more.
Then Charlie died. I liked her first post after his death. I thought it was sweet that she chose to remember him in a positive light instead of sharing the morbid video everyone else was circulating. She seemed to be honoring their friendship.
I also found it noble that she wanted to look deeper into what happened to Charlie — especially since other right-wing voices were doing the same. I respected her saying she would continue until Erika or her husband asked her to stop. It felt classy and loyal.
But little by little, as she pursued the “Truth,” her behavior began to contradict her words. Here are the main reasons why I now believe Candace Owens does not have Charlie Kirk’s best interests at heart:
- Charlie was all about keeping the conservative movement united.
- Charlie Kirk and Turning Point USA were all about engaging young people and getting them to vote.

- She is trashing Charlie's entire life work

- Candace is now trashing Charlie’s hand-picked coworkers.
- She is bulling his wife
- She is trashing Charlie's trial.
- She doesn't care at all about Charlies kids.
- She is hanging herself on Charlie for profit.

Charlie was all about keeping the conservative movement united.
As I watched the conservative movement grow, I always thought that what kept us together was our shared conservative values — even if we held them to different degrees — and our common opposition to the left.
However, Charlie’s death made it painfully evident that he was the glue holding much of the movement together. While this tragic event should have united us, it instead exposed growing cracks.
Candace Owens is undoubtedly one of the most divisive figures in the movement right now. Some call her and those who think like her “the woke right.” I disagree with that label. In my opinion, they are either leaning left or are simply political surfers — riding whatever wave is most convenient for them at the moment.
Unfortunately, she is taking a portion of the movement with her. Some people call these loyal followers the “Candace Cult”.
The good news is that as she grows more radical and her rhetoric becomes increasingly nonsensical, some of her followers are finally starting to open their eyes to who she really is.
Charlie Kirk and Turning Point USA were all about engaging young people and getting them to vote.
His organization toured colleges with the clear purpose of making students think critically and participate positively in elections. This effort contributed significantly to Trump’s strong gains with young voters in the last election.
Candace Owens, on the other hand, has openly said she doesn’t care about the midterms and that she distrusts virtually every government institution, including the FBI. She is pulling her audience in an opposite direction.
This does nothing to advance Charlie’s mission or protect his legacy. If she were truly invested in preserving it, she would be collaborating with Turning Point USA — touring colleges, speaking to students, and picking up the microphone. But she isn’t.
Instead, she spends her time complaining about how “terrible,” according to her, Turning Point has become. Not surprisingly, Turning Point has no interest in working with her either.
Charlie Trusted President Trump
Charlie didn’t just support and help elect President Trump — he had a personal relationship with him and genuinely trusted him. We can see that in the continued invitations Erika receives to White House events and, on a more personal level, to Don Jr. now wife’s bridal shower.
Candace, on the contrary, has done nothing but publicly declare that she no longer supports President Trump. I have a few theories about why:
- She simply doesn’t like him anymore or disagrees with his current policies.
- She wanted a bigger role in his administration, similar to Erika, and jealousy is driving her sudden change in attitude.
- With Republicans now in power, conservative media personalities are seeing lower ratings and engagement. She may be shifting toward the left (or playing both sides) to boost her views and relevance.
- She has become part of the new mainstream media and is actively trying to boycott President Trump, just like reporters at CNN or MSNBC.
She is trashing Charlie’s entire life work
She has complained about Turning Point over and over again since Charlie’s death. Turning Point was Charlie’s life’s work — everything he poured his heart and soul into — and now it feels like Candace is trying to destroy it.
At the beginning, she claimed she was “just asking questions” and trying to figure out what happened to Charlie and who was responsible. But it quickly went further. She was calling for people to stop donating to Turning Point or “request a refund” because of people in the organization “betrayed Charlie”.
Of course the organization it’s not the same — Charlie was Turning Point. But his team and his wife are working hard to keep his legacy alive, while Candace seems determined to tear it down. They need funding to continue the mission, and despite her claims, I believe they are staying as faithful to Charlie’s vision as possible without him.
It seems to me that Candace wanted to be put in charge as the new face or leader of the organization. Since that didn’t happen, she’s chosen to try to destroy it instead. She also appears to be rewriting who Charlie was in public so she can control the narrative and use their past friendship to claim she should carry “his legacy” — on her own terms and for her own profit.
Charlie had closer, more loyal friends and a devoted wife. Just because they were friends at one point doesn’t give her the right to try to own or redefine his legacy for her own convenience.
All of this is based on Candace’s behavior over the last several months. Instead of attacking, she could have chosen to work with Turning Point, support them, and help carry Charlie’s legacy forward in a positive way. But she hasn’t. She seems more interested in destroying it.

She is Trashing his book.
After Charlie’s death, Erika toured to promote his final book. Candace, of course, criticized her for it. She questioned why Erika wasn’t acting like a grieving widow, why she wasn’t staying home as a mom, and even who actually wrote the book.
According to Candace, Charlie was supposedly abandoning the Israel cause, and since the book was about the Sabbath, it made no sense that he had written it.
This is ridiculous and insulting on many levels. Charlie wrote that book. I heard him myself discussing it in interviews before his death, and his book was finished. He was literally preparing to promote it. Erika, despite her immense grief and probably preferring to stay home and mourn, chose to honored his commitments and went on the previously scheduled tour.
Before Charlie’s death, very few people knew much about Erika. She stayed low-key and let him shine. After his passing, she stepped out of her comfort zone to protect and carry forward his legacy — which naturally includes promoting his final book.
It’s absurd for Candace to attack something so easily debunked. All it takes is watching one or two videos of Charlie talking about the book online.

She launched this “investigation” after claiming she had a dream in which Charlie told her he had been betrayed by “everyone.” At first, I believed she was being genuine. In the immediate aftermath of his death, many people were grieving and desperate for answers, so her story was an effective emotional hook.
The problem is that this narrative strongly implies his closest friends and coworkers betrayed him — or were even complicit in his death. That would mean Charlie was a poor judge of character who didn’t know how to choose the people around him.
I completely reject that idea. Charlie was not only brilliant professionally, he was also shrewd and strategic in his personal life. He knew exactly who he was dealing with.
Candace wasn’t even invited to Charlie’s wedding. She was also apparently led go from Turning Point USA and later from the Daily Wire for the same reason: antisemitism. That tells you everything you need to know bout Charlie and Candace relationship before he passed.
I think Charlie was able to see through her. He remained polite because as I mentioned he was a unified but their friendship was very much over. Yes she keep collaborating not because they were friends but because she was part of the conservative movement with a good following.
Now she’s positioning herself as Charlie’s only real friend — the only one who truly cares, the only one who would never betray him. She’s trying to control the narrative by blaming everyone else while casting herself as both the victim and the hero.
Isn’t this textbook narcissistic behavior?
She is bulling his wife
Don’t get me started — I could talk about this for hours — but I’ll try to keep it brief.
At the beginning it was hard for me to connect with Erika, to understand why Charlie pick her to be his wife. But at the end of the day he did, he pick her and there is to be respected. Also is possible that she was weird at the beginning because she had to stood up despite the pain. And that is why she looked over acted may be.
At first, it was hard for me to connect with Erika. I didn’t fully understand why Charlie chose her as his wife. But at the end of the day, he picked her, and that choice deserves respect.
It’s also possible she seemed “off” in the beginning simply because she was forced to step up and lead while grieving. What looked like overacting may have just been a woman in immense pain trying to hold it together.
But after everything she is being put through particularly by Candace, I started to feel sympathy for her. We like her or not she loose her husband and I can’t even imagine that kind of loss.
Early on, I thought Candace was being classy when she said she wouldn’t stop investigating Charlie’s death unless Erika or Charlie himself asked her to stop. Then Erika publicly asked her to stop, and Candace refused.
That was a major red flag for me. If someone can’t keep a public promise, especially one made during such a sensitive time, they’re not trustworthy. And this isn’t the only promise I’ve seen her break.
What Erika has endured is systemic public bullying. Yet she has handled it with remarkable grace. I don’t know how I would manage under that level of scrutiny and pressure. No matter what Erika does or how she does it, Candace and her followers criticize her relentlessly. There’s nothing she can do to satisfy them.
Candace has accused Erika of marrying Charlie for money, status, power, and fame. The irony is striking: most people had never even heard of Erika until after Charlie’s death. Meanwhile, Candace has been in the public eye for years and is married to a British lord reportedly worth around $200 million.
What’s truly despicable is how Candace has repeatedly implied — over and over — that Erika was involved in Charlie’s murder, or even orchestrated it.
She has portrayed her as his “handler,” a puppet master, and a psychopath capable of anything. The vilification has been nonstop. She even released a podcast series titled “The Bride of Charlie,” an obvious play on Bride of Chucky.
I watched a few episodes hoping to see real evidence behind her claims about Erika. It was so boring and unbearable that I had to stop for the sake of my own peace of mind and soul.
There was nothing there — just endless implications without proof. By the third episode, Candace was repeatedly saying “it’s my show, my opinion” because she had no actual substance. Her audience noticeably dropped during and after that series.
Even worse, she has tried to link Erika to child trafficking in Romania with zero evidence. Yet friends of Candace (and/or her husband) — the Tate brothers — were actually arrested in connection with trafficking-related activities in Romania, and Candace hasn’t gone after them with anywhere near the same intensity.
Not to mention Candace wore a Balenciaga jacket in Russia after criticizing the brand for its disgusting campaign. I have no respect for that kind of double standard.
One final comment: Candace is often upset because Erika refers to Charlie as “my Charlie.” The only people who can rightfully call him that are his mom or his wife. Candace has no reason to be upset about this, and her reaction makes her intentions or interest in Charlie highly suspicious.
She is trashing Charlie’s trial.
Candace has pushed an endless stream of wild conspiracies about Charlie’s death, blaming everyone from Israel and Netanyahu to Egyptian planes, magenta shirts, Erika Kirk, Turning Point USA, the Daily Wire, Ben Shapiro, the FBI, the government, and even El Presidente Trump.
The problem is that real conspiracies work best when fewer people are involved. The more people who have to coordinate, the higher the chance of leaks and mistakes. These grand, all-encompassing theories fall apart under basic logic.
If Candace actually had valuable information or real evidence, why isn’t she cooperating with the authorities? Her cult say it’s because she doesn’t trust them. But then how does she expect to get justice for Charlie?
Also why she doesn’t cooperate with her investigation and hand it over to Erika or turning point. Well because she doesn’t like them or trust them. What about Charlies parents? They along with Erika would be the biggest interest in this to be solved properly. But she doesn’t.
And if she truly possesses game-changing information, why hasn’t the defense called her as a witness in the trial? At the end of the day, this is just Candace being Candace. What actually bothers me most is her claim that Tyler Robinson is innocent — just a patsy who was used to place a gun in the bushes and had never even set foot on campus.
The evidence against Robinson is overwhelming. He confessed, and his own parents turned him in. If he were truly innocent, wouldn’t his mother be campaigning publicly for his freedom?
Is very worrisome that she wants the killer of his ” best friend” walking out free around because she want “justice for Charlie”. She justify herself with not trusting the narrative or what the authorities say.
Healthy skepticism is fine, but when the evidence is this clear, continuing to chase the craziest conspiracies doesn’t help Charlie or his family — especially his children.
She doesn’t care at all about Charlies kids.
If Candace truly loved Charlie the way she claims, she would care about his children. But she clearly doesn’t. She constantly speaks negatively about their mother, their father’s organization, his coworkers, and even his book.
She has effectively been lobbying for his murderer to walk free. I can’t imagine a so-called friend of my husband behaving this way and still calling herself a friend.
In one episode, she even mocked the idea of praying for Charlie’s kids, saying something like “oh, pray for Charlie’s kids, pray for them.” Someone who speaks like that is not behaving like a Christian.
She is hanging herself on Charlie for profit.
This is one of the most upsetting aspects of the whole situation and appears to be her main motivation.
Many people noticed that Candace’s ratings were low before Charlie’s death. After he was killed, her episodes about him exploded in viewership, peaking at around 5 million views per episode. The moment Erika publicly asked her to stop and Candace refused, it became clear she had a strong incentive to keep the controversy going.
Candace frequently criticizes Erika and Turning Point USA for “profiting” off Charlie’s death. This looks like pure projection. Turning Point is a nonprofit that needs funding to continue Charlie’s work and preserve his legacy.
Erika, as his widow and the mother of his children, is now CEO — it’s natural for people to want to support her and the kids, regardless if they need the money or not. Candace’s attacks on this come across more as jealousy than principled criticism.
The person actually profiting directly from Charlie’s death is Candace herself. Episode after episode, the revenue goes straight into her own pocket. Unlike Turning Point, she is her own boss and brand.
She is not donating the money to Charlies favorite charity or to turning point or to the family he left either Erika, the children or Charlies parents. On the contrary her merch always has her face (because is everything about her) and says things like “Shabat shalom”, that is the title of Charlies book because of Course she has to mock it.
Now she is facing legal battles of her own making from things she said in the past. She estimates the cost will be around $5 million and claims she doesn’t have that kind of money “lying around.”
What a liar and a hypocrite! We all know her husband is worth around $200 million, and she makes anywhere from tens of thousands to hundreds of thousands of dollars per episode.
Once again, she is manipulating her audience for sympathy in order to generate even more money by asking them to help fund her legal defense. At the same time she has far more resources and options than she pretends.
Conclusión:
Candace Owens is doing everything in her power to trash Charlie’s life’s work — including his organization and his loved ones — while profiting from it. I don’t see how this is friendly, let alone Christian behavior.
If Candace genuinely cared about preserving Charlie’s legacy and delivering justice for him, she would be working alongside Erika, Charlie’s parents, Turning Point USA, and the Justice system. Instead, she seems determined to keep all the attention on herself while tearing down the very things Charlie cared about most.
Ironically the person who prides herself on being the most trustworthy friend from Charlie and the only one that didn’t betraying him seems to be the one that is actually betraying him, his family and legacy. All this based of course on Candace behavior.
